Egypt announced on 22/12/2022 a new licensing round for 12 oil and gas blocks in the Mediterranean, the Nile Delta, and the city of Sohag.

Earlier this month (6/10/2023), Egypt’s Natural Gas Holding Company (EGAS) announced that 4 out of 12 blocks were awarded to three companies: Italy’s Eni, QatarEnergy (QE), and Russia’s Zarubezhneft.

The remaining 8 blocks have received high interest from several companies, which have submitted their competing offers.

Tactical Report highlights the updates on Egypt’s oil and gas licensing round, including:

- Initial intentions for the tender

- The IOCs initially selected

- The reason the tender changed
