Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

– Keep across the news agenda to identify any potential stories

– Work with little-to-no supervision, conducting your own research and finding leads on potential stories

– Build relationships with people who may offer sources of information

– Collect data from a variety of credible confidential sources

– Use all your findings to prepare clean, concise and factual articles

– Respond to requests for information from our editors and turn them into fact-based information reports in an engaging and timely manner.

– As well as accumulating information, you must also gather supporting evidence in case your report is challenged

– Double-check everything you do, from the information you gather to the way you write your final report

Required skills:

– Minimum of 2 years’ working experience as a journalist or reporter in the Defense & Security and/or Energy sector, particularly in Oil & Gas

– Good reporting and verbal communication skills with a great attention to details

– Adequate experience with writing and editing tools (e.g., Microsoft Word)

– Capable of maintaining an ethical and objective standard in reporting

– Ability to meet deadlines and accurately fact-check information

– Arabic is a must, English is a bonus

المطلوب من المراسل:

– البحث الحثيث عن معلومات خفية غير متوفرة للعموم عن أشخاص، صفقات، تطورات ومحادثات تؤثر على أسواق الدفاع والطاقة.

– تنمية علاقاتهم مع شبكة مصادرهم الموثوق بها والقريبة من القطاع العام ومراكز القرار في منطقتَي الشرق الأوسط وشمال إفريقيا.

– ملاحقة الخبر النافع بشكل دوري ومتابعة تطوراته وآلية بلورته

– البحث الدائم عن مصادر جديدة موثوقة وتمييز المفيد منها من عدمه

– العمل دون وجود مشرف والإتكال على الذات للقيام بالأبحاث المطلوبة

– استثمار حيثيات التقصّي والبحث لصياغة خبر موثوق

– الإستعداد الدائم والجهوزية المستمرة للتواصل والتنسيق مع إدارة التحرير وكتّاب المركز وبحّاثيه لتأمين خبر عن أي موضوع مطلوب كما ولتوضيح أي تفصيل في خبر مُرسَل

– تأمين أدلة داعمة وحجج مقنعة في حال ورود أي تشكيك للخبر المنشور من أي جهة

– توثيق كل عناصر الخبر وإسقاط ذلك في الصياغة

لمضاعفة حظوظ النجاح المطلوب:

– خبرة لا تقل عن سنتين في مجال الصحافة والمراسلة في قطاع الدفاع و/أو الطاقة، بخاصة النفط والغاز

– مهارات في المراسلة والكتابة والإنتباه إلى أدق التفاصيل

– معرفة كافية في استخدام برامج الحاسوب لا سيما Word و Excel

– السير الدائم بحسب مقتضيات أخلاقيات العمل والضمير المهني والموضوعية بعيداً عن التحيّز والإنقياد

Job requirements - Skills & Qualifications:

– Bachelor’s degree required in Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, or any other relevant experience.

– Knowledge of the political and geopolitical affairs at regional and international levels is required.

– Good understanding of MENA politics and geopolitical issues as well as of bilateral relations with foreign countries.

– 2-3 years of experience in content (news, articles, reports, etc.) writing and editing.

– High skill levels in researching, writing, editing and proofreading with superb attention to details.

– Draft internal research papers to build up internal knowledge.

You are someone at the onset of your career in Software Development, looking to be actively engaged in the domains relevant to the organization's core business. What is your Mission:

You will design, build, and maintain the server-side of web applications, for them to be scalable, stable and secure. You are passionate about writing business logic, server scripts, and APIs that will later be used by the other developers and members of the team.

What are your Key Responsibilities:

As a Backend Engineer, you will primarily focus on databases, scripting, backend logic, APIs, and website architecture. As a Backend Developer, part of our Digital Experience Software Development team, you are responsible for writing the web services and APIs used by front-end developers. Besides being in charge of the server-side logic, your primary focus is to define and maintain databases, making sure they have high performance and responsiveness to requests from the front-end.

In addition, you will:

– Troubleshoot and debug Tactical Report's applications, public and internal.

– Conduct tests and optimize performance for speed and stability.

– Ensure the web application structure is secure

– Participate in the application lifecycle.

– Develop sustainable web applications with clean code.

– Generate reusable code libraries and data storage solutions.

– Provide training and support to other team members.

Technical Skills:

The skills required for this position are flexible; as a startup figuring out the demands of its clients and of itself, backend development will take care of different aspects and parts. Therefore knowledge in the following areas is required:

– Java knowledge (Spring Boot is a plus)

– Deep understanding of deploying or hosting.

– Knowledge of version control (Git and GitHub).

– CI/CD

– Jenkins Pipeline, Github Actions, or Gitlab Pipeline.

– Docker (Kubernetes is a plus)

– Linux OS (Ubuntu, Centos, Redhat, Fedora).

– In-depth understanding of accessibility and security compliances.

– Ability to manage a hosting environment along with database administration.

– Understanding of scaling applications to handle the load changes that is a large amount of data traffic.
