UAE President Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is said to have introduced a new manner of managing strategic relations with superpowers.
In a meeting with senior military commanders, he said that UAE’s relations with these countries will not be determined anymore based on arms deals and defense ties.
For instance, President Sheikh Mohammad reportedly told U.S. President Joe Biden that the UAE does not give importance anymore if it will acquire the F-35 during the current U.S. administration.
