Emirati Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed met with Russian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergei Lavrov in Moscow on (17/3/2022).
Sheikh Abdullah is reported to have informed Lavrov that Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan is willing to maintain military cooperation with Russia in areas where the UAE's interests are vital, as he is currently considering a number of international approaches to address the UAE's short-range air defense deficiencies
A primary requirement is said to be related to the Pantsir-S1 missile system the UAE owns.
