Last Saturday (28/8/21), Iraq hosted a regional summit in Baghdad. The summit was dubbed the Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership and was aimed at easing tensions in the region.
Several senior officials attended the summit, including notably Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal Bin Farhan Al-Saud and Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Hossein Amir-Abdollahian.
There is talk that contrary to what was expected among Saudi, Iranian and Iraqi diplomatic circles, no progress was made in Saudi-Iran talks during the summit.
Tactical Report has prepared a 430-word report to shed more light on this subject.
