Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and ruler of the Emirate of Dubai Sheikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum announced last Wednesday (10/2/21) a limited cabinet reshuffle, whereby Emirati Ambassador to Riyadh Sheikh Shakhbout Bin Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al-Nahyan was appointed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
By this, Sheikh Shakhbout replaced Anwar Mohammad Gargash, who had held this position for the last 13 years. Gargash was in turn named as diplomatic adviser to President of the UAE Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan.
Meanwhile, there is talk of an increased role played by UAE National Security Adviser Sheikh Tahnoon Bin Zayed in several regional files.
Tactical Report has prepared 448-word report to shed more light on the reasons behind the appointment of Sheikh Shakhbout and on his relations with Sheikh Tahnoon.
