Last Wednesday (2/9/20), US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker visited Beirut.
During his visit, he spoke with civil society groups and discussed US assistance efforts in the wake of the August 4 Beirut port explosion.
During closed meetings, he is said to have been questioned about the southern maritime border dispute between Lebanon and Israel.
