US Secretary of Defense Mark Esper is said to have informed Qatari Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khaled Al-Attiyah that the Pentagon does not deem it necessary for the Qatari Navy to acquire submarines.
This comes amid reports earlier last month that Qatar was preparing to buy submarines.
