The Saudi Interior Ministry is set to award a project to build a security fence along the Saudi border with Iraq. This comes as Saudi Interior Minister Prince Nayef Bin Abdulaziz is tightening security measures in the Kingdom amid reports suggesting that Al-Qaeda is preparing to launch new attacks in the Gulf region. The following 136-word item, published in Saudi Arabia Information Report’s issue of June 18, 2008, tells which company is likely to win the project and when the contract is expected to be announced. It also tells what it is still needed to get this done, and whether this is likely to cause further delays.
(*) Al-Rashid Trading and Contracting Company (RTCC) was formed by the amalgamation of Abdullah Al-Rashid & Brothers and Rashed Al-Rashed & Sons which owns 40% of its shares.
