Iraq: Anadarko technical support contract will not be the last onenote

The Iraqi Oil Ministry continues talks with foreign oil companies on technical support contracts (TSCs). Besides ExxonMobil, Chevron, Royal Dutch Shell, Total, BP, BHP Billiton, it has now begun talks with an Anadarko Petroleum-led consortium on another contract for Subba and Luhais oil fields in southern Iraq. However, this contract will not be the last one, as the Oil Ministry is in talks with other companies on similar contracts. The following 272-word article, published in Iraq Information Report’s issue of May 9, 2008, names these companies. It also tells which companies are expected to sign first TSCs, and whether this will be soon or not.
