Iraq: Priority for fence project with Saudi Arabia, or with Syria?note

The Iraqi government has plans to secure the border with Iraq’s neighbors and block infiltration routes, notably with Syria and Saudi Arabia. However, it has yet to decide on which security fence project to give priority over the other: the fence along the border with Saudi Arabia, or that along the border with Syria.
