Baghdad - Sources close to former Iraqi Oil Minister Thamer Ghadhban claim ConocoPhillips made a series of contacts with him recently. Other US companies have asked for meetings with him. According to these sources, former PM Iyad Allawi, the US Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and Department of Energy (DoE) strongly support Ghadhban for the oil portfolio in the post-election government in Iraq.
