Qatar: Lt-General Al-Atiyyah, Adviser to Emir Tamim for Defence Affairsnote

Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani issued on 27/1/2016 an Amiri decree by which he promoted Major-General Hamad Bin Ali Al-Atiyyah to the rank of Lt-General and appointed him as his Adviser for Defence Affairs with degree of Prime Minister. Before being appointed in his new position, Lt-General Al-Atiyyah was acting as Minister of State for Defence Affairs.
