Turki Bin Mahmood Al-Busaidi, who was appointed as Omani Ambassador to Damascus by a royal decree last March, was sent to Damascus earlier this month (5/10/20).
By this, Oman became the first Gulf country to send an ambassador to Syria after it had shut its missions in Damascus in 2012.
Sultan Haitham of Oman is said to have commented on this matter by saying that it is better to normalize Arab-Arab relations first and Arab-Islamic relations second, in order to face the economic and financial crises and the coronavirus pandemic.
Tactical Report has prepared a 398-word report to shed more light on Oman's policy towards Syria as well as Arabic and Islamic matters.
