Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces Lt-General Hamad Mohammad Thani Al-Rumaithi is reported to be interested in the U.S. projects to build a hypersonic Glide Phase Interceptor (GPI).
He is said to be staying in contact with former Commander of the U.S. Central Command General Kenneth McKenzie and other Pentagon officials for regular updates.
These updates are reported to include monitoring the competition between Raytheon Missile Defense, Lockheed Martin, and Northrop Grumman to secure a contract with the U.S. Missile Defense Agency (MDA), for a GPI.
