The Italian Foreign Minister Luigi Di Maio met on Monday (28/2/2022) with his Algerian counterpart Ramtane Lamamra and Minister of Energy and Mining Mohamed Arkab.
They discussed strengthening bilateral cooperation over energy supplies in light of the Russia-Ukraine conflict.
Italian delegations visited Algeria on (12/2/2022) to discuss possibilities of increasing LNG and natural gas exports to Europe.
This comes as plans have been put in motion by the EU and the US Department of State to diversify Europe’s gas needs and wean it off Russia’s gas.
