In 2017, Qatar placed an order for 24 Eurofighter Typhoon jets, for 5 billion US dollars. However, Qatar does not seem to be planning to go ahead with an additional order of 12 Typhoon jets, even as the Qatari request for F-35 fighter jets is likely to be rejected.
Qatar is said to have instead seriously started examining the possibility of acquiring cheaper fighter jets, such as JF-17 Thunder aircraft, which is jointly produced by Pakistan Aeronautical Complex (PAC) and China’s Chengdu Aerospace Corporation (CAC).
Tactical Report has prepared a 523-word report to shed more light on this subject.
