White House press secretary Jen Psaki said yesterday (16/2/21) that as part of a US decision to “recalibrate” relations with Saudi Arabia, US President Joe Biden will be speaking with his “counterpart” Saudi King Salman, rather than King Salman’s son Crown Prince Mohammad.
Psaki added that the two leaders will speak at an “appropriate time”.
The White House announced the same day that President Biden’s first telephone call with a leader in the Middle East will be with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
How did Crown Prince Mohammad react to President Biden's position?
