When Qatar’s Ministry of State for Defense and Italian defense company Leonardo finalized a $3.7 billion contract in 2018 for the supply of 28 NH90 multirole military helicopters, the Qataris expressed intention to equip them with anti-submarine warfare (ASW) capabilities.
