US Defense Secretary Mark Esper is said to have warned that all arms deals with Iraq would be frozen if the Iraqi Parliament takes a decision to end the US military presence in Iraq.
This comes after the United States carried out air strikes against Iran-backed Kata'ib Hezbollah (or Hezbollah Brigades) on 29/12/19, in retaliation for an attack on a US base in Iraq on Friday (27/12/19).
What would the freeze include?
What about the Iraqi-US relations?
These questions and more are answered in the following 362-word report.
