Kuwait, Iraq and Basra naval basenote

The Kuwaiti Defence Ministry is said to have decided to help Iraq build a major military naval base in Basra near the under-construction Al Faw Grand Port.

The Kuwaiti help will be to provide logistical support for the project.

This comes following the visit by Kuwaiti Emir Sabah Al-Ahmad to Baghdad in June.
