The Military Industrialization Authority (MIA) is Iraq’s newly-revived defense conglomerate. A successor of the Saddam-era organization, MIA was re-established in September 2019 by the Military Industrialization Authority Law, passed by the Iraqi Parliament.
MIA is subordinated to the Ministry of Industry and Minerals and has a direct channel to Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi.
