Further to his royal decree by which he appointed Prince Khaled Bin Bandar Bin Abdulaziz as
Vice-Minister of Defence, Saudi King Abdullah issued a series of royal decrees by which he appointed:
- Mohammad Bin Abdullah Al-Ayesh as Assistant Defence Minister
- General Abdulrahman Bin Saleh Al-Bunyan as Chief of Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces in place of General Hussein Bin Abdullah Al-Qubail
- Lt-General Fayyadh Bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili as Deputy Chief of Staff of the Saudi Armed Forces in place of General Al-Bunyan
- Lt-General Mohammad Bin Ahmad Al-Shaalan as Commander of the Royal Saudi Air Force (RSAF) in place of Lt-General Al-Ruwaili
- Lt-General Abdullah Bin Sultan Bin Mohammad Al-Sultan as Commander of the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF) in place of Admiral Dakheel-Allah Al-Wakadani
