The Egyptian Ministry of Military Production (MoMP) intends to upgrade its existing coastal defense

systems and acquire new equipment in that sector.

Cairo is reported to be aiming to acquire anti-ship missile systems as well as self-propelled kinetic artillery.

For that purpose, talks are said to be ongoing with MBDA, BAE Systems AB, and LIG Nex1 defense companies for this purpose.
