Egypt is in talks with the Swedish defense company Saab to replace the Egyptian Air Force's (EAF) aging E-2C Hawkeye 2000 fleet.
Talks began on the sidelines of the Paris Air Show in late June 2025 and have since evolved into a formal government-to-government scoping phase overseen jointly by the Egyptian Armed Forces Armament Authority and EAF command.
