Saudi King Salman issued a royal order on 22/10/2025 appointing Sheikh Saleh Bin Fawzan Bin Abdullah Al-Fawzan as Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia and the Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars.
Sheikh Al-Fawzan will also serve as President of the General Presidency of Scholarly Research and Ifta.
The royal order was issued following a proposal by Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman (MBS).
