Reporter - Middle East & North Africa

Tactical Report publishes intelligence reports on the Middle East and North Africa, designed for senior officials and government decision-makers focused on geopolitics, defense, energy, finance, and economic matters.

We are currently seeking a reporter with access to the information needed to cover a specific field, who can provide exclusive news and contribute to our team of editors and researchers.

Our readers take the information we publish and act upon it; therefore, accuracy is more important to us than speed, and far more important than volume or quantity.

This is the role of investigative field reporting. The reporter's task is to establish what has happened and what is to come, while our analysts handle the analysis and forecasting.

Job Responsibilities

• Develop and cultivate a primary source network
• Provide exclusive reporting for our advisory publications with responsibility and an unwavering commitment to accuracy and objectivity.
• Verify all content according to our editorial standards
• Work closely with our editors and researchers in selecting topics, sources, and coverage

Required Qualifications

Essential

• Three to five years of journalistic experience in the Middle East and North Africa, with a track record of original, source-based reporting
• Experience in distinguishing between ordinary and meaningful developments
• Fluency in Arabic and/or English
• Ability to cover at least one country in the region and to engage with its decision-making circles in accordance with the law
• Genuine depth in one of the following areas: geopolitics, government decision-making, and an understanding of economic and fiscal policies; defense and security; energy.

The following are considered a plus, but are not requirements:

• The ability to cover at least one country outside the Arab region but closely related to it, such as the United States, France, Italy, Iran, Turkey, China, South Korea, or Japan;
• The ability to answer urgent requests

نبحث حالياً عن مراسل لديه قدرة الوصول الى المعلومات المطلوبة من أجل تغطية مجال محدد وينفرد بأخبار خاصة، ويفيد فريق المحررين والباحثين بها.

قرّاؤنا يأخذون المعلومات التي ننشرها ويتصرفون في ضوئها، لذا فإن الدقة عندنا أهم من السرعة، وأهم بكثير من الحجم أو الكم.

هذه وظيفة تقارير ميدانية إستقصائية. مهمة المراسل إثبات ما حدث وما هو آتٍ فيما يتولى المحللون لدينا التحليل والاستشراف.

مهام الوظيفة

• تطوير وتنمية شبكة مصادر أولية
• الانفراد بأخبار لنشراتنا الإستشارية بمسؤولية وبحرص لامتناهي على الدقة والموضوعية
• التحقق من كل مادة وفق معاييرنا التحريرية
• العمل عن قرب مع المحررين والباحثين لدينا في اختيار المواضيع والمصادر والمعالجة

المؤهلات المطلوبة

أساسية

• من ثلاث إلى خمس سنوات من العمل الصحفي في الشرق الأوسط وشمال أفريقيا، مع سجل من التقارير الأصلية المستندة إلى مصادر
• خبرة كافية للتمييز بين المستجدات العادية والمستجدات الإستثنائية
• إتقان اللغة العربية أو الإنكليزية
• القدرة على تغطية بلد واحد في المنطقة على الأقل والقدرة على التواصل مع دوائر صنع القرار فيه بما يتوافق مع القانون
• عمق حقيقي في أحد المجالات التالية: الجغرافيا السياسية وصناعة القرار الحكومي وفهم السياسات الاقتصادية والمالية؛ الدفاع والأمن؛ الطاقة.

تُعدّ ميزة إضافية، وليست شرطاً

• القدرة على تغطية بلد أو بلدان خارج المنطقة العربية إنما وثيق الصلة بها كالولايات المتحدة أو فرنسا أو إيطاليا أو إيران أو تركيا أو الصين أو كوريا الجنوبية أو اليابان مثلاً،
• القدرة على تلبية الطلبات المستعجلة
