Sergey Bychkov, the General Director of Ukrainian Defense company Antonov, recently (26/8/21) stated that Saudi Arabia and Antonov may re-launch the project to develop the An-132D multi-purpose transport aircraft.
The agreement for the development of this aircraft was signed in February 2015. However, Antonov confirmed in April 2019 that the project has been suspended.
Meanwhile, there is talk that the official Saudi response to Bychkov’s statement, especially from the Saudi Ministry of Defense, is still unclear.
