Qatari Minister of State for Defense Affairs Khaled Al-Attiyah met last week (19/8/21) with his US counterpart Lloyd Austin in Washington, to discuss the recent developments in Afghanistan and other regional issues.
Al-Attiyah and Austin are said to have particularly discussed the possibility of providing Qatar with short-range air defense systems of type AN/TWQ-1 Avenger, which are still located at the US Bagram Air Base in Afghanistan.
Tactical Report has prepared a 343-word report to shed more light on this subject.
