Libya-Italy: Coast Guard, security and energy cooperation [Update No.1]note

Last month, (31/5/21), Libyan Interim Prime Minister Abdelhamid Dabeiba met with his Italian counterpart Mario Draghi in Rome. They agreed to cooperate on strengthening the capabilities of the Libyan Coast Guard (LCG) and to collaborate in several other fields, including security, energy, intelligence, and military training.

There is talk that new developments have recently emerged in this regard following the visit of President of the Libyan Presidential Council (LPC) Mohammad Al-Menfi to Rome (22/6/21), where he met separately with PM Draghi and Italian President Sergio Mattarella.
