Saudi Arabia: EADS, Al-Rashid and Iraq fence contractnote
The Iraq security fence contract is likely to go to the European defence group EADS and its Saudi partner Al-Rashid Trading & Contracting. However, there is nothing official yet, while the talks between the Saudi Interior Ministry, EADS and Al-Rashid continue. The following 407-word article, published in Tactical Report Weekly Brief’s issue of June 27, 2008, tells why EADS and Al-Rashid are in a good position to be awarded the contract. It also tells on what the talks between the Interior Ministry and Al-Rashid focused, and how EADS acted to help these talks make progress. The article also talks about how EADS succeeded in reinforcing its credibility in the Saudi circles. Besides, the article mentions that a position is still needed from a Saudi key entity to get the contract ready to sign. This position is expected to be positive.
