The Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) air defences shot down this morning (20/6/19) over the Strait of Hormuz a U.S. drone, claiming it had violated Iran’s airspace.
The drone was an RQ-4 Global Hawk.
IRGC Commander Major-General Hossein Salami is said to have commented on
the incident by saying: “We shot down an aircraft that violated our airspace,
period”.
