Iraq: Dulaimi, Panetta and F-16 Block 60 (30 credits)

Posted on: Mon, May 28, 2012

Iraqi Acting Defence Minister Saadoun Al-Dulaimi is said to have discussed with US Defence Secretary Leon Panetta the possibility of making the new F-16 deal be for the F-16 Block 60 rather than for more F-16 Block 52 variant jets. The following 408-word report sheds light on the subject and tells what about the Pentagon’s reaction. Note that Dulaimi was in Washington last week to attend the meetings of the US-Iraq Defence and Security Cooperation Committee from 22 to 24/5/12.
